Last week, Gerry at The Book Nook UK tagged me in the Sunshine Blogger award! Thank you so much! I love being tagged in things, and I actually think this is the fastest turn around for a tag yet, so I guess I’m getting better. (Let’s not hold our breaths, though.)

Here are Gerry’s questions!

1. Which villain in a book are you most like and why?

2. Giving us a hard one to start off, huh Gerry? I’ve been thinking about this for hours now, and I still have no idea. I’ve taken to Google to look up top literary villains, and I think I’ll go with the White Witch from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Not a whole lot of reasoning here, but I definitely can picture myself gallivanting around on a sled pulled by my polar bears and offering sweets to children so that they listen to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

3. What is the worst adaptation of a book (either TV or movie) that you have seen?

4. Obviously Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I mean, come on. Even Rick Riordan thinks it’s terrible. But my less obvious choice is Bridge to Terabithia. The movie is fine, IF (and it’s a big if) you haven’t read the book. A lot of the changes are subtle, but they add up and it just doesn’t have the same feel as the book.

5. You get to pick a book mum to be your mum for the day – who do you pick? Why?

6. I hate to go Percy Jackson again (well, not really), but Sally Jackson is literally the best literary mom I can think of. She’s so supportive and caring and loving and is just amazing. And she’s a badass! She freaking turned her shitty, abusive boyfriend into stone with Medusa’s head and sold it as art!! Name a bigger icon, I’ll wait.

7. You’re a guest at a fictional wedding. What wedding are you attending? Bonus question: what gift (if any) do you bring?

8. Rhy Maresh and Alucard Emery. They are the cutest, and I love them with every fiber of my being. Plus, it would mean I would get to travel to Arnes and Red London. What do you even bring a king as a gift? Doesn’t that mean he has everything (including Alucard)? Also, I have no clue what good wedding gifts are. Maybe, like, a fancy vintage of wine? We all know they both tend to drink a little too much, so I’d let them do it with a little bit of class.

9. Pick a song that sums your mood/ life right at the moment.

10. I don’t know if it sums up my life or anything, but I’ve been really obsessed with Follow Your Fire by Kodaline for like the past month. I heard it for what I think was the first time right after I read Catching Stars and it fits that book perfectly, so I always think of it when I listen to it. I could listen to it on repeat for hours.

11. Two roads diverge in a yellow wood. You take one. What does it look like and where does it take you?

12. Because it’s a yellow wood, it makes me think of the Yellow Brick Road, and I would definitely take that to the Emerald City if given the chance.

13. A witch has given you a potion, this potion will give you something you want but at the exchange of something of equal value. What do you want and what will you give up?

14. Oof, throw me into the middle of a fantasy story, why don’t you? Can I say no thank you and go on my way? Is that an option? If there’s one thing books and fairy tales have taught me, it’s not to trust witches or potions.

15. Do you have a best time to write and post your blog posts?

16. Whenever I have time? I guess I have my best focus during the late-morning and early-afternoon, so I tend to try and do the bulk of any writing then. If it gets to be too late, I just get sleepy and no one’s brain works well enough before 9 am to do anything then. As for posting, it’s not necessarily because it’s the best time, but I do always schedule posts for 9 am. It stems from my bookstagram, because I can’t auto-post on there, and that was always when I had time to post during the school year and summer, since it was the time I had free most days. I just stuck with it here as well.

17. You roll over in bed one morning and there is a fictional character sharing your pillow! Who is it?

18. Dol from Vicious. Who wouldn’t want to find a huge, fluffy, twice-undead dog cuddling with them when they wake up?

19. You get to spend a week in a fictional place. Where do you go and what do you do?

20. This is tough. Since I’ve already been to Red London for the Royal Wedding, I’d go to Themyscira and train with the Amazons for a week. I mean, who wouldn’t want to go be around a bunch of badass warrior women and learn from them?

21. Go to your TBR and select book number 11. What is it?

22. I’m cheating a little and using both my Goodreads TBR and my physical stack. For Goodreads, the 11th book on my “Want to Read” list is Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman. I think she’s wonderful, and even though I’ve only read Illuminae by her and Jay Kristoff, I really dig her work. For my physical stack, it’s Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.

As I’ve established before, I never know who to tag in these kinds of things (and 11 seems like a lot to me), so I’ll try 4! No pressure if you don’t want to or have already done it!
